Certified Personal Support Workers are trained to give significance and meaning to the lives of their clients as they deal with the effects of aging, injury, or illness.

 

Aims Healthcare College offers a curriculum that will meet the client’s needs and the requirements of various workplaces where Personal Support Workers may be hired. This training program replaces previously required training for Health Care Aides, Home Support Workers, Attendant Care Providers and Respite Workers.

 

To become certified as a PSW, you must complete a course of in classroom work and practical experience hours where you are trained to deliver health care services safely and effectively. The instructors and placement regularly evaluate the class and clinical practicum to ensure we offer our students the best quality education.

Human Resources Development Canada says, “Personal Support Workers will increase in demand as the health care field changes. This is where the jobs are in the 90’s and beyond.”

Becoming a PSW will allow you to take a role in a fast-growing area of the healthcare field. Certified PSW graduates will find employment in both institutional and community settings.
